El Condesito

El Condesito

18 minutes away south. The remains of a cement ship waiting for us in this fantastic dive.

The Condesito, name of vessel, was about 42 meters in length. He sank a Christmas Eve crashing against the rocks on the coast near Punta Rasca, in 1975.

This iron ship is in a much deteriorated condition so is not safe to penetrate inside the wreckage and the cargo hold. Next to the remains we can see part of her cargo consisted sacks.

The rock formations around the ship are huge basalt columns, giving us with some beautiful underwater scenery. If we move away from the coast will find large sandbanks surrounded by huge bare rock bottom.

On this dive we´ll see great diversity of species since the remains of the ships are home to huge trumpet fish, red mullet, scorpion, glass-eyes, lizard fish, bream, fire worms, octopus, barracudas, etc.
